MARTIN TURNER YOUTH CUP
A two legged affair played between all age groups from the Basingstoke and Andover Leagues, with the cup going to the League winning the most ties. 1st Leg PHYL v Testway at Charlton Sports Ground 06/11/07

For most it was their debut under floodlights on a large pitch with a big crowd. It started well with an early goal and got better. It was our teams first game together. The passing from both sides was to a high standard which produced a very entertaining game. The game ended with a 5 v 2 victory to the Peter Houseman league team.
All the squad played their part and were all superb with a great attitude, and we look forwards to the return leg on Tuesday 11th December.

2nd Leg PHYL v Testway at Charlton Sports Ground 11/12/07 PHYL 3 – Testway 1
In the return leg we managed to tie up the second leg with another win. The first challenge was our goalkeeper missing due to illness. The second challenge was a frozen pitch which made passing very difficult. The way the lads dealt with the situation was superb, nearly all volunteered to go in goal with Sam and Dominic only letting a penalty in between them. Again we started well and were 2 up in the first half, in the second half we changed half the team and the success continued and we ended 3 v 1 victors. This was a very good exercise where all the lads played an equal part (many in a different position from their club position) in a very good team performance. The passing and team support was very good.
We now go onto the semi finals of the Hants cup against other very strong leagues. All the lads are looking forwards to reaching the final and bringing the first of many trophies back for a very strong PHYL age group.
